The winners of the Astrophotography contest held March 24, 2000 at the annual dinner were Jim Piombino (Solar system, Lunar Eclipse) Kevin Conod (Wide field, Milky Way), Kevin Conod (General, Double Cluster) Kevin Conod (Best of show, Double Cluster)

The winners of the Astrophotography contest held April 30, 1999 at the annual dinner were John Miksits, Jim Piombino and Angelo Restivo.

Club member Gene Faulkner took photographs of first quarter moon, Comet Hale-Bopp and of the Orion Nebula in April, 1997. In the summer he took M51 , the Whirlpool Galaxy in Canes Venatici, and M57 , the Ring Nebula in Lyra. His image of Saturn is lovely. He also had photos of the full moon and Comet Hale-Bopp (a small body) on the NASA Observatorium Image Gallery .
