The Themes and Icons section.

Here is where my Themes reside.

Windows 95/98/2K has a group of additional programs on a CD called Plus!,one of which is called Themes. (Both Windows 98 and 2K come with Themes.) Themes include background wallpaper, icons, animated cursors, and sounds that are associated with certain events. Most of my Themes have .jpegs as background images, instead of .bmps, or bitmaps, because .jpegs are much smaller.

You will need to unzip these files.

This is a Theme based on one segment of the animated movie "Heavy Metal", the one on Richard Corben's Den. The story is of David Ellis Norman, a 98-lb. weakling who gets transported through space and time to Neverwhere, (changing into a muscle man, named Den, in the process,) and his adventures with Katherine Wells (Kath), also from Earth, and the Red Queen, a sorceress.
This Theme was truly a labor of love. Heavy Metal is one of my favorite movies, obviously. I have enough sounds and some wallpapers to make some more Themes, depending on user response. (see below...) I could do a Taarna Theme, or a general Theme, with sounds, etc. from all the segments.

Well, as you can see, someone decided to get involved and did a DVD video capture that was too good to deny. This Theme was even more a labor of love, and it came out really well! All the icons, sounds, cursors et al are mine, including the Skin color scheme. I used the color picker in Photoshop to get the exact colors in the wallpaper.
This Theme is based on another segment of the animated movie "Heavy Metal", this one based on Angus McKie's So Beautiful, So Dangerous. The story is of a couple of stoned aliens, their sidekick robot, (who's name is "Titan", not that they mention that in the film), and a beautiful secretary that they "pick up" on the Earth. Then, after snorting pounds of Niborg, they try to land on a giant space station (which is called "Axis", which is the capital of the galaxy, which they also don't mention in the film). I had A LOT of requests for this one, and it was a pleasure to bow to the pressure.

Ahh, The Iron Giant. What can you say? Hopefully, this wonderful animated trip to the Fifties will herald a new resurgence in Quality animation. The tale of Hogarth Hughes and the giant robot from the stars that he befriends is poignant, full of meaning and message. I have had this Theme sitting on my desktop since the movie came out, and at the eleventh hour dutchie made some excellent sound grabs, helping me complete this Theme. It's nice and small, too.

This is the very first Theme I ever made, and I'm quite proud of it. I made all the cursors, icons, etc. I recorded and manipulated all the sound files. I even did the screen capture of the image! What started out as a little summer project turned into a mass of work. I learned a lot, though.
As some of you may know, Yellow Submarine was digitally remastered and re-released in September, 1999. (I was lucky enough to catch it in NY at the Union Square Theater.) The surround sound was quite amazing, well worth the $10 ticket price. The movie is a must-get, in video form. They have added a whole sequence for the song "Hey Bulldog", which incidentally explains why that song was on the original soundtrack.
This has also led to a plethora of tie-in items, including a U.S. postage stamp! The original Dinky toy is still expensive, though... Look for Al Brodax's "Up Periscope Yellow" (One of the producers) and Bob Heironimus' "The Hieronimus & Co. Yellow Submarine Journal", both books due out in the fall of '99.
There is also an awesome Flash movie on the the new release website. Click on the stamp to see it:

This is, strangely, my most popular Theme by far. I receive more e-mail (and help requests-OY!) for this one than all the others. This Theme has won a couple of awards. Check out the Reviews section. Sweet Betty Boop is sort of a " more mature" Betty Theme. It has a screen saver!

These were made because I wanted to do some new Tron Themes (there were a lot of "old" Tron Themes out there.) ;-) The Tron Splat! Theme is based on an image of the Light Cycles escaping from the Game Grid.
The Tron Walks Theme is based on an image of Tron walking into the Communications Tower. All the sounds, etc. are relevant to the image. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
There is also a Tron screensaver.

This is a Theme based on the movie Blade Runner, the cool one with Harrison Ford. I sort of cobbled this one together out of stuff I found on the 'Net. The idea is a sort of half and half mix: the medical/genetic manipulations of the Tyrell Corporation, and the idea of flying in a Spinner towards the Tyrell Corporation mega-building. This Theme has taken a while to catch on, but I have now gotten some good e-mail on it.

The Prisoner was an excellent television show from the 1960s, which starred Patrick McGoohan. It was not only an exciting spy sort of a show, but it also had deep philosophical concepts and implications. This show is well worth the effort of finding a station that shows it.

If you just want the icons...

Sometimes I don't want a whole Theme, I just want the cursors and icons. So, I thought it would be nice to offer my icons all by themselves. Also, I am removing my Astro Boy Theme since I got no feedback on it, and all I did was create new icons. Here are the icons:
