Landsat Multispectral Scanner False Colour Composite

White Sands is the very bright feature to the NE; the USDA-ARS Jornada Experimental Range is located on the western side of the Organ Mountains (part of the San Andres range) which can be seen to the west of White Sands. The black line corresponds to the USDA-ARS Experimental Range but excluding the wildlife refuge and missile range areas on the eastern side. Redder areas correspond to higher vegetation densities, most notably on the Organ mountains in the first image and surrounding the Rio Grande river in the second image.
