CHRIS is the Compact High Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer developed by Sira Electro-Optics and flown on the European Space Agency's PROBA satellite. The USDA, ARS Jornada Experimental Range is one of the 22 core sites worldwide selected for exploiting data from the instrument.

News 27th Feb. 2001: tentative launch date announced

News 11th July 2000: it looks as if we will not be able to acquire m/any multiple-view angle scenes for the Sevilleta NWR as a result of resource constraints (PROBA must sunbathe after each sequence of acquisitions). However, it should be possible to obtain some single-view images.
